Exercise 1:

Problem:
Given the information below, we find the voltage resolution of a thermistor... a thermal resistor.

Now, we are given a design challenge:
"Our design criteria are as follows: Design a circuit like that shown, containing a thermistor as one of the resistances, which satisfies the following specifications:
1.      +5V input voltage to the system
2.      Output voltage varies by a minimum of 0.5V over a temperature range of 25°C to 37°C.
3.      Output voltage must increase as temperature increases"

Using MATLAB to crunch the numbers.

Exercise 2:

Problem:
Predicting the resistance of the thermistor at room temperature and at body temperature.

Testing the properties of the thermistor by building the circuit. We first measure at room temperature, then by simply holding it between two fingers we can measure the effect that an increase to body temperature has on it.
